What is Labor court judgment (sentença)?
Also: sentença · merits judgment · first-instance decision
A labor court judgment is the decision that closes the merits phase before a Labor Court. The judge rules on every claim — granting it in full, in part, or denying it — and, where there is a conviction, sets the awards and the parameters for calculation (art. 832 of the CLT).
It is the densest act of the case: it settles the an debeatur — whether the right exists — and opens the door to liquidation, which will determine the quantum. The vast majority of cases end at this stage; only a fraction rise to an appellate ruling on appeal. Across real Labor Court merits decisions, claims are granted — fully or partially — in roughly two thirds of cases, with wide variation by claim type and by court.
How LABORIS AI uses it
LABORIS AI reads the operative part of the judgment, records the outcome of each claim and cross-references it against the ruling pattern of the court and the judge, turning the text into a real probability of conviction and exposure.
