What is Judicial deposit (depósito judicial)?

Also: depósito judicial · depósito de garantia · judicial deposit

A judicial deposit is an amount paid into the case to secure or satisfy the conviction. Its purpose may be to secure the court in enforcement (arts. 882 and 883 of the CLT) or to evidence the payment due. It is not to be confused with the appeal deposit, which is a condition of an appeal’s admissibility.

The deposit receipt is direct evidence of a financial movement in the case — hence its importance in determining how much has, in fact, been paid, distinguishing it from what is merely secured until released by a judicial release order.

How LABORIS AI uses it

LABORIS AI interprets each deposit according to its nature — security, settlement installment or payment — avoiding the common error of treating an appeal security as discharge and keeping the case balance faithful to what has actually been satisfied.
