What is SisbaJud asset freeze (bloqueio SisbaJud)?

A SisbaJud freeze is the attachment of money carried out electronically. Successor to BacenJud, the Judiciary’s Asset Search System lets the court, in enforcement, freeze amounts in the debtor’s accounts and investments (art. 854 of the CPC). Because money ranks first in the order of attachment (art. 835, I), it is the first and most effective seizure measure.

For the company being enforced against, it is the point at which the liability reaches the cash directly. Anticipating the likelihood and timing of a freeze is part of managing the litigation’s liquidity.
