What is Writ of attachment (auto de penhora)?

Also: auto de penhora · termo de penhora · attachment · seizure

A writ of attachment is the act that formalizes the seizure of assets or funds in enforcement (art. 838 of the CPC; art. 883 of the CLT). Once the amount has been fixed in liquidation, attachment identifies the property that will answer for the debt — often through electronic freezing of bank accounts.

It is the point at which the conviction leaves the realm of calculation and reaches the company’s assets. It marks the turn of enforcement: what was an amount owed becomes an amount actually seized.

How LABORIS AI uses it

LABORIS AI records the attachment and the frozen amounts in the case’s financial trajectory, distinguishing what was merely seized from what was actually paid, so the balance owed reflects the reality of enforcement.
